To inform you about the matter of teachers in public senior secondary and below schools (hereinafter referred to as primary and secondary schools) who have prior experience as substitute teachers in remote areas, and whose years of service have been used to waive educational practicum requirements in accordance with Article 22, Paragraph 1 of the Teacher Education Act, they may be eligible for salary advancement in accordance with relevant regulations such as the Teacher Remuneration Act.
Explanation:
1. In accordance with the Ministry of Education's letter No. Tai-Jiao-Ren (2) Zi No. 1144203206, dated September 24, 114.
2. Article 22, Paragraph 1 of the Teacher Education Act, as amended on May 26, 106, stipulates that substitute teachers who have passed the teacher qualification examination and have been appointed in accordance with the Regulations for the Appointment of Part-time, Substitute, and Replacement Teachers in Primary and Secondary Schools, and who meet the teaching conditions in remote areas as specified in the same article and have received a passing evaluation, may use their two years of teaching experience to waive the educational practicum requirement.
3. To expand the pool of teachers for remote areas, when substitute teachers in remote areas are subsequently appointed as teachers in public primary and secondary schools, their years of service as substitute teachers, if used to waive educational practicum requirements in accordance with Article 22, Paragraph 1 of the Teacher Education Act, may be counted for salary advancement in accordance with Article 9, Paragraph 1 of the Teacher Remuneration Act and other relevant regulations.
4. Current teachers in public primary and secondary schools who meet the conditions described in Explanation 2 may apply for salary adjustment in accordance with this letter within 3 months, and the adjustment will be effective from the date of this letter. Applications submitted after the deadline will be effective from the date of application.
5. The Ministry of Education's letter No. Tai-Ren (1) Zi No. 86106342, dated October 24, 86, and any previous interpretations by the Ministry of Education that are inconsistent with this letter shall cease to apply from September 24, 114.
