I. To implement the policy objectives of the national environmental education program, governments at all levels and schools jointly promote environmental education, enhance knowledge, attitudes, skills, and values for environmental protection, and therefore organize the aforementioned practical competition to improve the professional knowledge and observational thinking abilities of elementary and junior high school teachers and students in environmental education, so as to practice environmental action.
II. The practical competition is divided into two forms: "Teacher Environmental Education Action Research" and "Student Practical Competition." Key points are as follows:
(I) Teacher Environmental Education Action Research:
1. Participants: In-service full-time environmental education personnel in elementary and junior high schools. The same action research can be proposed by one person or co-authored by multiple people, up to 4 people.
2. Submission themes: Environmental education action research plans that conform to the five major environmental issues, with environmental education programs targeting classes or the entire school. These can be linked to families, schools, and communities to form an environmentally friendly cycle, practicing environmental education through action. This does not include degree theses or project research reports that have received subsidies. Submissions are accepted from February 1, 2019, to March 1, 2019.
3. Review method: The Ministry of Education will organize a review committee for evaluation. Based on the scores from the review committee, ranked from highest to lowest, the top 10 will be selected. The top 3 teams will be awarded outstanding achievement certificates and bonuses by the Ministry of Education, and the remaining 7 selected teams will be awarded selection certificates.
(II) Student Practical Competition:
1. Participants: Divided into upper elementary school group (grades 5 and 6) and junior high school group. Teams consist of 3 to 5 people (including the supervising teacher).
2. Practical competition format: Divided into observation education action group and physical object group.
3. Review method: The Ministry of Education will organize a review committee for evaluation, divided into preliminary and final review stages. The review committee will conduct the preliminary review to select 15 groups from each competition category to enter the final review. The top 3 teams in each category will be awarded outstanding achievement certificates and bonuses by the Ministry of Education, and the remaining 12 selected teams will be awarded selection certificates. Preliminary submission acceptance is from October 1, 2018, to November 30, 2018. The final review is scheduled for March 22, 2019.
