Description:
1. In accordance with the Ministry of the Interior's letter No. Tai Nei Min Zi No. 10802259742, dated January 7, 2020.
2. The selection and commendation activities mentioned above are as follows:
(1) Qualifications of nominees: Any citizen of the Republic of China, registered in Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, or Matsu, regardless of gender, age, or occupation, whose filial piety meets the selection criteria and has no adverse record within the past 3 years. However, those who have previously received this award, or whose family members have received this award, or whose filial piety deeds have been recognized by central government agencies within the past 5 years, are not eligible to participate in the selection again.
(2) Selection criteria: Nominees who have long practiced filial piety and have one of the following specific filial deeds that are moving, thought-provoking, proven to be true, and serve as an example for others:
1. Prudent in conduct and economical in living, devoted to serving parents and elders, and maintaining family harmony.
2. Fulfilling filial duties with optimism and broad-mindedness, assisting families at high risk of long-term care and disability to regain their ability to live.
3. Other special deeds in treating elders that conform to the spirit of filial piety, which can guide people's hearts and inspire emulation.
(3) Nomination method:
1. The nominating unit shall fill out the candidate nomination form and its electronic version, and submit it to the designated unit before the deadline.
2. The nominating unit is also requested to fill out and affix the candidate's personal 6x4 inch life photo and 4x6 inch filial deed photo to the form.
(4) Number of nominations: Each district office in this city is limited to selecting one model of filial piety. To ensure equal opportunity and widespread participation, please do not re-nominate individuals who have received this award in the past three years, or whose family members have received this award, or whose filial deeds have been recognized by central government agencies within the past five years.
(5) Deadline and location for submission:
1. Before 4:00 PM on February 21, 2020 (Friday): The nominating unit shall submit the relevant documents to the respective district offices.
2. Before 4:00 PM on February 27, 2020 (Thursday): The district offices shall personally deliver (or mail) the hard copy documents to the Academic Affairs Office of Ruifeng Elementary School in this city. The postmark will be the basis for acceptance; late submissions will not be accepted. Please mark the envelope: "Taoyuan City XX District 2020 Filial Piety Award Selection" (Address: No. 40, Lane 933, Section 2, Jièshòu Road, Bādé District, Taoyuan City 33448, Attn: Head of Teaching Section, Academic Affairs Office); the electronic version should be sent to the email address of Teacher Huang, Academic Affairs Office, Ruifeng Elementary School:tg040213@mail.rfes.tyc.edu.tw.
3. After each district office selects one model of filial piety, the Bureau will appoint supervisors or representatives of principals of elementary and secondary schools to form an investigation team. On-site investigations will be conducted from March 11, 2020 (Wednesday) to March 18, 2020 (Wednesday). Each team will submit a report based on the investigation results. Those who meet the qualifications will be nominated as filial piety role models for city commendation, and 3 individuals from the aforementioned list will be recommended to continue to the 2020 National Filial Piety Award final selection.
4. Please assist all units in publicizing this information through websites, social media, and LINE groups.
