| Description: |
| I. | In accordance with the letter from the Taoyuan City Government Health Bureau dated September 6, 112 (2023), No. 1120086809. |
| II. | According to the epidemic data from the Centers for Disease Control, influenza viruses are still active in the community recently, and the epidemic trend is clearly rising. In response to the gathering of people and group activities after the start of school, in order to protect the health of teachers and students, reduce disease transmission, and lower the risk of epidemic outbreaks, please continue to implement relevant prevention and control measures in your school(s): |
| (1) | Self-management and the concept of not going to school when sick: Urge parents to pay attention to the health status of their children (infants and young children). If they have related symptoms, they should practice self-health management, strengthen wearing masks if they have respiratory symptoms, and promote the concept of "not going to work, not going to school, not going to class when sick." |
| (2) | Strengthen self-protection and monitor the health status of members: Enhance personal hygiene within the school(s), emphasize the importance of maintaining good personal hygiene habits, including frequent handwashing, paying attention to respiratory hygiene and cough etiquette, maintaining social distancing, and caring for and monitoring students' health status. |
| (3) | Prevent transmission and hand hygiene: |
| 1. | Pay close attention to the cleanliness of home and learning environments, and frequently wash and disinfect items and toys that children (infants and young children) frequently come into contact with. |
| 2. | Regularly clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces (e.g., doorknobs, handrails, etc.) in the environment, and maintain environmental ventilation. |
| 3. | Wash hands frequently, using soap and water or an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, rubbing hands for at least 20 to 30 seconds, especially before eating or taking medication, before handling food, before contacting vulnerable populations (elderly, infants and young children), after using the toilet, and after contacting infected individuals. |
| 4. | Before hugging or feeding infants and young children after returning home, be sure to change your outer clothes first, and pay attention to personal hand hygiene, and implement the "wet, lather, rinse, scoop, wipe" five steps of handwashing. |
| (4) | Strengthen the dissemination of information about symptoms among classmates and cohabitants to medical feedback: When students and staff have flu-like symptoms and seek medical attention, they can provide feedback to the doctor about similar flu-like symptoms among classmates/people in the same environment/cohabitants. If the doctor diagnoses that the patient meets the criteria for using government-funded influenza antiviral drugs, no rapid screening is required, and the doctor can prescribe appropriate government-funded drugs based on their professional judgment for the patient to use, so that the patient can receive timely medication. |
| (5) | Maintain social distancing and appropriate protection: |
| 1. | Try to avoid crowded and poorly ventilated public places, and strengthen personal hygiene protection, be sure to wear masks correctly, practice social distancing, and pay attention to cough etiquette and other personal hygiene protection to reduce the chance of viral infection. |
| 2. | Try to reduce the organization of non-essential group or large-scale activities, or limit the number of participants, to avoid cross-infection due to crowd gathering. |
| 3. | Infected individuals in school dormitories should be prioritized for placement in isolation rooms/single rooms. If isolation rooms/single rooms are limited, infected individuals can be cared for collectively, and the bed distance should be maintained at least 1 meter apart, with curtains for separation. |
| (6) | Vaccination promotion: Encourage students and staff to get vaccinated against influenza according to the schedule. High-risk and high-transmission groups for influenza should be vaccinated as soon as possible. |
| III. | A copy is sent to the Lifelong Learning Section of this Bureau, requesting them to inform all childcare centers and cram schools in the city to pay attention to relevant epidemic prevention measures. |
