| 1. | In accordance with the letter from the Issuance Department of the Central Bank (hereinafter referred to as the "Central Bank") dated September 6, 112 (Republic of China calendar), Ref. No. Tai-Yang-Fa-Zi-1120032313. |
| 2. | The aforementioned special exhibition (https://museum.cbc.gov.tw/museum/) is the first joint exhibition curated by the Central Bank and the National Museum of History (hereinafter referred to as the "Museum of History"). It showcases 50 precious artifacts from the Museum of History, including ancient coins, silver ingots, and silver dollars, dating from ancient times to the late Qing Dynasty. The exhibition is divided into three units: "Ancient Currency," "Dynastic Legal Tender," and "Towards the Silver Standard," with brief introductions as follows: |
| (1) | Ancient Currency: Displays cowrie shells from the Xia and Shang dynasties, as well as spade money, knife money, and round coins from the Spring and Autumn and Warring States periods. |
| (2) | Dynastic Legal Tender: Displays Qin Ban Liang, Han Wu Zhu, and Tong Bao issued by the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. |
| (3) | Towards the Silver Standard: Displays silver ingots, Yuan Bao, and silver dollars, representing currency that moved towards a silver standard. |
| 3. | Students can access the virtual exhibition hall website at any time to appreciate these precious ancient coins. These coins were not only important mediums for daily transactions by our ancestors but also carried the aesthetics, cultural significance, and monetary sovereignty of their time. It is hoped that this special exhibition will lead everyone to look back at the "Past and Present of Coins." |
| 4. | Furthermore, to meet diverse viewing needs and enrich knowledge, this virtual exhibition hall not only features a permanent exhibition introducing the history of currency issuance in our country but has also launched various themed special exhibitions such as "The Brilliance of Women," "The Magnificent Natural Scenery," "The World of Art," "The Driving Force of Civilization," "A Grand View of World Architecture," "The Abundant Earth," and "Human Rights Champions," which introduces important figures in the design of currency from various countries related to the pursuit of human rights and gender equality. All these are continuously available in the exhibition archives. Students are welcome to browse them. |
