2024 Carbon Sink and Tree Education Empowerment Workshop (Chiayi University Session) Workshop Brochure

| I. | This is in accordance with the Ministry of Education's letter No. Tai Jiao Zi (6) No. 1132702217, dated May 27, 113. |
| II. | To address climate change and align with the global net-zero emission goals, the Ministry of Education is promoting the "Campus Tree Information Platform" with its tree carbon sequestration calculation function. This initiative aims to assess the carbon sequestration capacity of trees on campus, enhance teachers' and students' understanding of the role of green plants in energy saving and carbon reduction, and promote tree appreciation. It also seeks to improve the professional knowledge of school staff in tree planting and maintenance, foster a greater appreciation for trees, and collectively create a sustainable campus environment. Therefore, the aforementioned workshop is being organized. |
| III. | Key information about the workshop is summarized as follows: |
| (1) | Participants: Environmental Education Guidance Group, school environmental education teachers, school personnel responsible for tree maintenance and planting, or any interested school staff. |
| (2) | Workshop Schedule: June 19, 113 (Wednesday), from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The morning session focuses on tree appreciation education, from 9:00 AM to 12:10 PM. The afternoon session covers tree carbon sequestration, from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM. |
| (3) | Workshop Location: National Chiayi University (Lantan Campus), Forest Biodiversity Hall, 1st Floor Auditorium (No. 300, Xueliao Village, Jiayi City). |
| (4) | Registration Method: Online registration is open from now until June 14, 113, 5:00 PM. (Registration URL: https://reurl.cc/bVYply) The maximum number of participants is 70. |
| (5) | Participants attending this event will be granted official leave (or business leave) by their respective schools according to their authority. |
| IV. | Participants who complete the entire workshop will receive environmental education hours (including extended hours), teacher in-service training hours, or lifelong learning hours for civil servants. The morning session on carbon sequestration enhancement offers 3 hours, and the afternoon session on tree appreciation education offers 3 hours, for a maximum of 6 hours. |
