2024 Lexue Cup Topic Writing Competition

Subject: To inform you that United Daily News Co., Ltd. is organizing the "2024 Lexue Cup Issue Writing Competition" and has provided one copy of the activity brochure. We kindly request your school to encourage students to participate. Please acknowledge receipt.
Details:  
1. In accordance with the letter from United Daily News Co., Ltd. dated October 23, 113 (2024), Ref: Lian Zi No. 2410150003.
2. This event aims to encourage your school to promote reading or newspaper reading education through campus writing. Students will be guided to read issue-based texts and then create short essays, fostering deep thinking and logical expression based on news events, and broadening their concern from themselves to others and society.
3. This event is jointly promoted by Lexue.com and Haodu Weekly. Students will choose one of the three specified issue-based texts to read and then complete the corresponding issue writing prompt (numbered one to three). This is a short essay competition, and the word count should not exceed 500 characters. Submissions are accepted from now until November 30th.
4. The competition is divided into two groups: junior high school and senior high school/vocational. Each group will select one first prize winner and ten honorable mentions. First prize winners will receive a certificate, a cash prize of NT$2,000, and one month of access to two regular courses on Lexue.com. Honorable mentions will receive a certificate, a cash prize of NT$1,000, and one month of access to one regular course on Lexue.com. Additionally, participants who upload proof of submission to the official Lexue.com LINE@ account during the submission period will receive a trial access to Lexue.com courses.
5. Submissions will be accepted via "group" mail or "individual" electronic submission:
(1) "Group" mail submission: Please first visit the United Daily News Education Service official website "Udnn College" (udncollege.udn.com) to read the three specified issue-based texts. Students should choose one and complete the issue writing on paper, filling in personal information (name, school name, class, mobile number, email, supervising teacher's name). Mail the submission via registered post to: 2nd Floor, No. 369, Section 1, Datong Road, Xizhi District, New Taipei City 221, Attn: United Daily News Education Business Department Lexue Cup Issue Writing Competition.
(2) "Individual" electronic submission: Please first become a member of the United Daily News Education Service official website "Udnn College" (udncollege.udn.com). After logging in, please click on "Submission Management" → "Lexue Cup Call for Papers." In the title, please fill in "Prompt Number - Prompt (Custom Title)." For the submitted article, please use full-width punctuation marks, and indent the beginning of each paragraph by two spaces.
6. Attached are one copy of the "2024 Lexue Cup Issue Writing Competition" activity brochure, and one copy each of the three specified issue-based texts and learning worksheets. We kindly request your school to encourage students to participate.
