Academic Affairs Office Announcement

National Taiwan Ocean University offers an online MOOC course titled "Marine Sustainability Actions from Taiwan to the World." This course is recognized for 6 hours of continuing education credits on both the "Environmental Education Lifelong Learning Network" and the "National Professional Development Program for Teachers" platform.

Description:  
I. In accordance with the letter from National Taiwan Ocean University dated February 13, 2025, No. Hai Jiao Zhong Zi Di 1140002852.
II. The aforementioned course will introduce the basic concepts of fisheries science and the ecological consequences of fisheries management failures, delve into marine conservation laws and policies, and use Taiwan's cases to understand how Taiwan is transforming into a responsible ocean nation and achieving sustainable ocean development.
III. Course Information:
(1) Instructors: Four teachers from National Taiwan Ocean University, including Tseng Hsiao-chun, Kuo Ting-chun, Hsu Rui-feng, and Chang Wen-ning.
(2) Course Content: Includes achieving sustainable development through fisheries management, overfishing and ecosystem-based fisheries approaches, science-based marine and coastal management, marine pollution, Taiwan's path towards a sustainable nation, and laws and policies.
(3) The course is completely free and open to all participants.

(5) How to attend: Enroll in the "MOOCs in Education Platform (eduMOOCs+)" by selecting the "Use Education Cloud Account or County/City Account" option for login.
IV. Method of Issuing Training Hours:
(1) "National In-service Teacher Training Information Network": For those who meet the course passing standard (60 points), the "MOOCs in Education Platform (eduMOOCs+)" will automatically cross-check with the "National In-service Teacher Training Information Network" to issue training hours.
(2) "Environmental Education Lifelong Learning Network": For those who meet the course passing standard (60 points), our university will assist in logging hours to the "Environmental Education Lifelong Learning Network." If you need to record training hours, please complete the "Environmental Hours Training Hours Application Form" (online form URL: https://pse.is/2502SDG) by December 24, 2025.
