| I. | Taiwan, surrounded by the sea, has a geography and marine environment that intertwine to shape the island's rich ecology and culture. To encourage students and the general public to actively initiate and participate in marine affairs, since 2013, writer Wu Ming-yi and his mother, Ms. Wu Zheng Xiuyu, have each year sponsored NT$100,000 to establish the "Ms. Wu Zheng Xiuyu Black-Tide Scholarship," continuously encouraging and supporting various research and creative projects "themed on the ocean." |
| II. | This scholarship is divided into four major categories: "Marine Science Research," "Marine Conservation Activities," "Marine Art Creation," and "Marine Project Science Exhibition." We look forward to the expertise and creativity of every islander, allowing the rich layers of the ocean to be seen and understood by more people. |
| III. | Applications for this call for proposals are open from now until October 17, 2025. Projects can be new or already in progress. For application guidelines and frequently asked questions about the scholarship, please visit the Black-Tide Marine Education Foundation website to inquire or download the application form (https://reurl.cc/9RZN6v). |
