| Subject: | Forwarding the Ministry of Education, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's "114-115 Academic Year COVID-19 Vaccination Plan" which expands the scope of free vaccination to "individuals aged 6 months and above who have not yet been vaccinated" until April 30, 115, and requesting schools to cooperate with the promotion. |
| Description: |
| 1. | In accordance with the letter from the Ministry of Education, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, No. 1150017641, dated February 24, 115. |
| 2. | To address the increased risk of COVID-19 transmission due to frequent family visits and travel during the Lunar New Year holiday, and in accordance with the resolution of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the scope of free COVID-19 vaccination has been expanded to include "individuals aged 6 months and above who have not yet been vaccinated" from January 1 to February 28, 115, to enhance public immunity and reduce the risk of severe illness and death after infection. |
| 3. | According to the epidemic monitoring data from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, international COVID-19 cases have recently risen. Considering that domestic epidemics have occurred in the summer for the past two years, and that domestic vaccine supply is sufficient, the aforementioned expansion of free COVID-19 vaccination targets has been extended until April 30, 115, to proactively prevent the epidemic, following consultation with ACIP members. |
| 4. | Information regarding vaccination locations for the aforementioned vaccines is regularly updated on the COVID-19 Vaccination Special Zone of each local government's Department of Health and the CDC's "Influenza and COVID-19 Vaccine and Influenza Medication Map." |
| 5. | For any inquiries regarding this matter, please contact Ms. Chang Chia-ling at the Ministry of Education, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, at telephone number: 04-37061364. |
