I. In accordance with the Ministry of Education's letter Tai Jiao Guo Bu Zi No. 1090086626 dated August 4, 2020.
II. To implement Articles 27 and 29 of the Indigenous Peoples Education Act, promote understanding of Indigenous languages, history, science, and culture among teachers in senior high schools and below, and put into practice the 12-year basic education curriculum guidelines, the Ministry of Education is organizing the "2020 Outstanding Indigenous Culture Lesson Plan Selection and Implementation Plan" to encourage teachers in senior high schools and below to engage in research on competency-oriented, issue-integrated, and Indigenous language-related supplementary teaching materials.
III. The relevant information for the aforementioned plan is as follows:
(I) Participants: Current teachers, substitute teachers, intern teachers, full-time Indigenous language teachers, and Indigenous language teaching support staff in senior high schools and below.
(II) Categories: Divided into the Experimental Education Group and the Non-Experimental Education Group. Each group is further divided by educational stage into elementary school, junior high school, and senior high school, with lesson plans designed to be suitable for students in each category.
(III) Selection Themes: Including the preservation and inheritance of Indigenous languages and writing systems, understanding the historical experiences of tribes and Indigenous peoples, Indigenous naming systems, traditional institutional operations and their modern transformations, Indigenous cultural connotations and cultural heritage, Indigenous land and ecological wisdom, Indigenous livelihood models, tribal ethics and taboos, and 7 other items.
(IV) Schedule:
1. Registration and Submission: From August 15, 2020, to October 15, 2020, 12:00 PM.
2. Announcement of Selection Results: To be announced before November 23, 2020.
3. Award Ceremony: Scheduled for December 11, 2020.
