| Explanation: |
| I. | In accordance with the letter from the National Academy for Educational Research dated March 25, 110 (2021), Ref: Jiao Yan Ke Zi Di 1101100384. |
| II. | In accordance with the "National Language Development Act," national languages are to be included as official curriculum subjects. In conjunction with the Ministry of Education's subsidy for the "Revision Plan for the General Provisions, Subject Area Curricula, Other Types of Curricula, and Implementation Guidelines" and the "Indigenous Languages" Curriculum Guidelines Revision Plan, the National Academy for Educational Research has established a "General Provisions, Subject Area Curricula, Other Types of Curricula, and Implementation Guidelines" Revision Team and a "Min Dong Language" Curriculum Guidelines Revision Team. Following the general curriculum framework, the revision of the Twelve-Year Basic Education Subject Area Curriculum Guidelines to include national languages as official curriculum subjects is underway. |
| III. | According to the curriculum guidelines revision process established by the National Academy for Educational Research, draft curriculum guidelines that have been resolved and confirmed by the Twelve-Year Basic Education Curriculum Research and Development Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Curriculum Development Committee) will undergo review, public hearings, and online forums to further collect relevant revision opinions. |
| IV. | The National Academy for Educational Research held the 8th and 9th meetings of the (4th) Curriculum Development Committee on February 1, 110 (2021) and March 18, 110 (2021), respectively. The draft curriculum guidelines for the Arts Talents Specialization Areas and Indigenous Languages (Min Dong Language) of the Twelve-Year Basic Education were discussed and approved, allowing for public discussion (including online forums and regional public hearings) to gather opinions from all sectors. |
| V. | The schedule for the public hearings on the two draft curriculum guidelines mentioned in the subject is as follows: |
| (1) | Online Forum: Scheduled to run from 9:00 AM on March 26, 110 (2021) (Friday) to 5:00 PM on April 25, 110 (2021) (Sunday), for a total of 31 days. The draft curriculum guidelines for the two subjects and their revised comparison tables will be published online (for the newly established Min Dong Language, in addition to the draft curriculum guidelines, revision explanations and Q&A will be provided). Opinions will be collected through the forum. |
| (2) | Regional Public Hearings: |
| 1. | The draft curriculum guidelines for the Twelve-Year Basic Education - Indigenous Languages (Min Dong Language) and Arts Talents Specialization Areas, along with related public hearing materials, will be published on the National Academy for Educational Research's "Online Forum for Draft Curriculum Guidelines Revision in Response to the National Languages Development Act" webpage (http://12basic-forum.naer.edu.tw/) starting at 9:00 AM on March 26, 110 (2021) (Friday). Attendees can download and read them in advance. |
| 2. | Public hearings are scheduled to be held in five regions (East, North, Central, South, and Matsu) with a total of 9 sessions on April 10 (Saturday), April 11 (Sunday), April 17 (Saturday), April 18 (Sunday), and April 25 (Sunday), 110 (2021). |
| 3. | Invited Organizations and Representatives: (It is recommended that representatives from various groups and institutions consolidate opinions from their respective organizations before attending.) |
| (1) | School Representatives: Representatives from public and private elementary and secondary schools. |
| (2) | Representatives from the Education Bureaus of Municipal Governments, representatives from County and City Governments, representatives from County and City Guidance Teams, Indigenous Language Instructors, and other representatives. |
| (3) | Representatives from the Central Curriculum and Instruction Consulting Teacher Teams (Central Team), representatives from the Subject Centers of Senior High Schools, representatives from the Subject Area Centers of Vocational High Schools, representatives from the Pilot Schools of the Twelve-Year Basic Education, and representatives from Indigenous Key Schools. |
| (4) | Group Representatives: Representatives from teacher associations, parent associations, social groups, and student organizations. |
| (5) | Individuals interested in this topic are also welcome to register freely. |
| 4. | Registration Method, Time, and Deadline: |
| (1) | Registration Method: Primarily online registration, with on-site registration also available. | (3) | If the number of registrants for a session exceeds the venue capacity, registration may close early. The registration deadlines for each session are as follows: |
