2022 Selection of High-Quality Teams for Marine Education Innovation Teaching

| Subject: | Regarding the "2022 Excellent Team Selection for Innovative Marine Education Teaching" organized by the Ministry of Education's National Academy for Educational Research (hereinafter referred to as NAER), please encourage teachers to actively register and participate. Please be informed. |
| Explanation: |
| I. | In accordance with the "Letter of Marine Education No. 1110011699" from National Taiwan Ocean University dated June 6, 2022. |
| II. | To commend teachers in public and private senior high schools and below across the country for integrating marine education into various subject areas, NAER encourages teachers to form inter-school and interdisciplinary professional learning communities to conduct innovative interdisciplinary marine education teaching, thereby enhancing students' learning quality. Therefore, this implementation plan is formulated to inspire excellent teachers and foster team cohesion. |
| III. | Key points of the aforementioned implementation plan are as follows (please refer to the attachment for details): |
| (1) | Eligibility: Teaching teams composed of teachers from public and private senior high schools and below nationwide. Each team shall consist of 3 to 6 teachers, with a maximum of one team per school (inter-school teams are not subject to this limitation). |
| (2) | Selection Groups: Elementary School Group, Junior High School Group, and Senior High School Group, totaling three groups. |
| (3) | Deadline: From now until June 30, 2022 (Thursday), postmark date applies. |
| (4) | Application Method: Each team must submit one original copy of the selection application form and a letter of authorization, along with three copies of the proposal document. These should also be compiled into one CD (Word, PDF) as an electronic file. Applications should be submitted according to the team's group. |
| 1. | Non-inter-school teams: Schools wishing to participate should prepare the required documents and submit them to this bureau for compilation by June 20 (Monday). |
| 2. | Inter-school teams (each team composed of at least 2 schools of the same level): Prepare the required documents and apply directly to the Taiwan Marine Education Center, National Taiwan Ocean University. Mail the documents via registered post to [Taiwan Marine Education Center, National Taiwan Ocean University (3rd Floor, Integrated Building 3, No. 2, Ning-Hai Road, Zhongzheng District, Keelung City 20224)], clearly marking "2022 Excellent Team Selection for Innovative Marine Education Teaching." The postmark date (June 30, 2022) will be used as the reference. |
| (5) | Awards: |
| 1. | Awards for each group will be selected separately: 1 to 5 teams for Special Award, 1 to 5 teams for Excellence Award, and several teams for Honorable Mention (the number of awards may be increased or decreased based on the quantity and quality of submitted works and the decision of the judges). Each awardee will receive a certificate of award. The awarding authority may grant appropriate commendations and rewards based on their responsibilities. |
| 2. | Recipients of the Special Award will be recommended for the "Ministry of Education Marine Education Pioneer Award - Curriculum and Teaching Team Award" and will receive a cash prize of NT$12,000. This prize will be awarded in accordance with the "Regulations for Issuing Cash Prizes or Equivalent Rewards for Cross-Supervisory Authority and Regional Competitions." The eligibility for this prize requires that the ratio of awardees (individuals or teams) to participants (individuals or teams) must be 20% or less. |
