Description:
I. In accordance with the Ministry of Education's letter Tai Shi (1) Zi No. 1080137269 dated September 19, 2019.
II. To accelerate the promotion and encourage private sector research on Taiwanese comics, and to expand research capabilities for Taiwanese comics, which will serve as a reference for historical research and artifact collection for the future National Comics Museum, the Ministry of Culture has specifically established the aforementioned key points to encourage all sectors to actively engage in Taiwanese comics research.
III. This year's "Key Points for the Ministry of Culture's Subsidy Program for Taiwanese Comics Research Projects" are briefly outlined as follows:
(I) Eligibility: Juristic persons, public and private schools, civic organizations, and natural persons holding a Republic of China national identity card, established or registered in accordance with ROC laws.
(II) Subsidy Themes: Including the historical context and current development of Taiwanese comics, creators and publishing mechanisms, domestic and international works, interdisciplinary research, and the cultural and social research of comics, totaling seven major categories. Any research project related to Taiwanese comics is eligible for subsidy.
(III) Subsidy Principles: Research projects on Taiwanese comics history or artifacts that have not been publicly published or released.
(IV) Subsidy Amount: The maximum subsidy for each project is NT$500,000.
IV. Interested applicants can complete the online application process and prepare relevant documents from now until the submission deadline of October 17, 2019 (Thursday). Applications should be sent by registered mail to the Ministry of Culture (postmark as proof of submission), or delivered in person during business hours (8:30 AM to 5:30 PM). The application system, award regulations, and guidelines are available on the Ministry of Culture's "Grant and Subsidy Information Network" (Website: http://grants.moc.gov.tw/Web/index.jsp).
