Description:

I. To promote the concepts of scientific inquiry and hands-on teaching, this institute will hold three workshops in different regions. The details are as follows:

(I) Title: 2019 Junior and Senior High School Scientific Inquiry and Hands-on Teaching Promotion Workshop - Junior High School Group.

(II) Time and Location:

1. Session 1 (Central Region): October 25-26, 2019, at National Taichung University of Education (No. 140, Minsheng Road, West District, Taichung City).

2. Session 2 (Southern Region): November 22-23, 2019, at Kaohsiung Senior High School (No. 50, Jianguo 3rd Road, Sanmin District, Kaohsiung City).

3. Session 3 (Northern Region): November 29-30, 2019, at Ren-Ai Junior High School, Taipei City (No. 130, Section 4, Ren'ai Road, Daan District, Taipei City).

(III) The workshop schedule is detailed in Attachment 1.

II. We kindly request that county and city governments forward this information to relevant teachers in their affiliated junior high schools to encourage active participation.

III. We kindly request that county and city governments announce this workshop to promote awareness. Interested teachers can register online. However, there is a limit to the number of participants, and admission will be granted on a first-come, first-served basis to those who meet the eligibility criteria and have relevant professional duties.

IV. Teachers from schools participating in the 2019 Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) formal testing will be given priority for admission.

V. Registration Method:

(I) Teachers are requested to register through the institute's homepage/workshop information registration system/annual activity plan/online registration (URL: https://workshop.naer.edu.tw/NAWeb/Services/wFrmYearPlanAct.aspx). After approval, an admission notice and related matters will be sent via email. Detailed registration instructions can be found in Attachment 2.

(II) Registration Period: Session 1 (Central Region) from now until October 11, 2019 (Friday); Sessions 2 and 3 (Southern and Northern Regions) from now until November 1, 2019 (Friday).

(III) Regarding leave, class arrangements, and substitute teachers for workshop participants, please refer to your respective authorities for approval.
