Description:

1. In accordance with the letter from the Department of Mathematics, National Taiwan Normal University, dated October 22, 2019, No. 1081029495.

2. The main purpose of this event is to train teachers to help students who are not well-prepared for mathematics learning. Through fun, hands-on math foundational activities, students can build prerequisite experiences for learning math and increase their willingness to learn. Event details are as follows:

(1) Time: Saturday, November 23, 2019, from 9:00 to 17:20.

(2) Location: National Ilan University (No. 1, Section 1, Shennong Road, Yilan City, Yilan County 260).

(3) Participants for the "4th Math Activity Facilitator Training Workshop" include full-time teachers, substitute teachers, contract teachers, and intern teachers from junior high and elementary schools in various counties and cities. For the Ilan session, each group (two classes for lower elementary grades, two classes for upper elementary grades, and one class for junior high) will have a maximum of 28 participants in principle, subject to adjustment based on registration numbers.

(4) Teachers wishing to participate in this event should complete the registration form by 12:00 PM on Friday, November 15, 2019, at the following website (https://forms.gle/UqYVVP5LGbB7ga278). Late registrations will not be accepted. Official leave will be granted by the participating teachers' schools. No fees will be charged for this event, and lunch will be provided. Participants are responsible for their own insurance, accommodation, and transportation costs.

(5) The schedule, other relevant information, and updates can be found on the website of the Center for Mathematical Education, National Taiwan Normal University (http://www.sdime.ntnu.edu.tw/main.php).

3. Math teachers who meet the above qualifications and participate in the "Math Activity Facilitator" training organized by the Center for Mathematical Education, National Taiwan Normal University, and complete all course content (must attend all modules for their chosen group) to obtain certification will be awarded the "4th Math Activity Facilitator" certificate for their group.

4. To ensure the quality of the trained Math Activity Facilitators, if any module is not attended for at least 2/3 of its scheduled hours, participants may audit the training sessions but will not receive the "4th Math Activity Facilitator" certificate.

5. Only those who have obtained the "4th Math Activity Facilitator" qualification are eligible to apply to organize the "Fun Math Camp" at their respective schools' math education centers.
