Description:
I. In accordance with the Bureau's letter dated November 18, 108, No. 1080097947.
II. This project is organized by the Bureau and undertaken by Wuling Senior High School. The purpose is to encourage and affirm the effectiveness of junior high school science and mathematics education, stimulate students' interest in learning, provide opportunities for self-affirmation, and discover outstanding science and mathematics students in the city to cultivate future science and research talents.
III. The competition will be held in two stages: preliminary and final. The top 60 students in the preliminary round (with at least 10 guaranteed spots for seventh graders) will advance to the second round. The total score will be calculated by weighting the preliminary and final round scores. The competition details are as follows:
(I) First Stage: Preliminary Round (Written Test)
1. Time: Saturday, April 11, 109.
2. Location: Wuling Senior High School.
3. Subjects: Mathematics, Science (including Physics, Chemistry, Biology).
(II) Second Stage: Final Round
1. Time: Eight sessions will be held over four consecutive weekends starting from Saturday, April 18, 109. A final comprehensive test (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology) will be held on May 23.
2. Location: Wuling Senior High School (Science Building).
3. Competition Format: Project-based learning, experimental practice.
IV. The participants for this competition are as follows:
(I) Eighth-grade students from junior high schools in Taoyuan City: Schools will collectively recommend students who meet the criteria of having a total score PR value of 98 or above in mathematics and science (physics, chemistry, and biology) for the first three semesters.
(II) Seventh-grade students from junior high schools in Taoyuan City who have been identified as gifted in mathematics and science, science, and creativity can participate through collective registration.
(III) Students who meet any of the following conditions may be directly recommended for registration, without being subject to the aforementioned quota limitations:
1. Those who have been selected as national representatives for the International Olympiad in Science or the International Science and Engineering Fair.
2. Those who have been selected as national representatives for the Asia-Pacific Mathematics Olympiad or the Asia-Pacific Physics Olympiad.
3. Those who have won awards in national or regional (municipal) mathematics and science competitions organized by government education authorities, or in the National Student Science Exhibition organized under the guidance of the Ministry of Education.
V. Please email the registration form to the Examination Group of the Academic Affairs Office at Wuling Senior High School (wlsh221@mail.wlsh.tyc.edu.tw) by Wednesday, March 11, 109 (two files: Excel file and scanned image of the stamped registration form). Please also call Ms. Hsu Su-jung at 03-3698170 ext. 221 to confirm. The registration fee is NT$200 per student. The person in charge at the junior high school should collect the fees collectively and submit them to the cashier's office on the first floor of Wuling Senior High School by Friday, March 13, 109, before submitting the stamped paper registration form to the Academic Affairs Office on the third floor.
