I. In accordance with the letter from the Social Affairs Bureau of Taoyuan City Government dated December 11, 2019, No. 1080112537.

II. According to Article 21 of the Social Assistance Act, if a family emergency occurs and leads to financial hardship, applicants should contact the district office of their registered household (for emergency relief) or place of residence (for emergency assistance) to apply.

(I) Emergency Relief: For reasons such as inability to afford funeral expenses due to death, accidental injury, serious illness, unemployment (requiring 3 job search certificates), etc., applicants must be registered residents of this city and apply at the social affairs section of the district office in their registered household (applications can be submitted across districts).

(II) Emergency Assistance: For reasons such as death, disappearance, serious injury or illness (requiring more than one month of treatment or recuperation, or a severe illness that prevents work), unemployment (involuntary job loss), or being a vulnerable family, or other unforeseen circumstances that lead to financial difficulties (relevant supporting documents must be attached for application), applicants should apply at the social affairs section of the district office in their place of residence.
