Description:
I. In accordance with the National Tsing Hua University's letter dated December 26, 2019, Ref. No. 1089008561.
II. To comply with the "Indigenous Peoples Education Act" and the "12-Year Basic Education Curriculum Guidelines," this workshop is organized to encourage and assist elementary and secondary school teachers in developing teaching materials and methods related to Indigenous science education in Taiwan. The university aims to cultivate the ability of current teachers and pre-service teachers to design multicultural teaching materials and methods.
III. Details of the workshop are as follows:
(I) Date: March 5, 2020, to March 7, 2020.
(II) Location: Lai Lai Hotel, B2 Conference Room.
IV. Teachers interested in attending the workshop should register by February 12, 2020, at the following URL: https://forms.gle/XWxPaKc3SWmCD3RH7. Registration will close once capacity is reached. Please note the following:
(I) Upon check-in, participants must sign a Teaching Module Authorization Agreement (participation is not allowed without signing).
(II) The organizers will provide accommodation, meals, and a round-trip transportation subsidy for the entire duration of the workshop for admitted participants.
(III) Seats are limited. Please pay a deposit of NT$1000 before filling out the registration form. Upload the remittance proof to the registration form after completing the payment and fill in all required information. The deposit will be refunded upon full participation in the workshop and submission of a complete teaching module. Deposits are non-refundable for those unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances.
(IV) On the third day of the event, upon confirmation by the organizers that the teaching module is complete and submitted, a certificate of completion will be issued on-site, the deposit will be refunded, and a limited edition "Giwas Loves Science" animated doll will be given as a gift.
(V) If the teaching module is not completed on the third day of the event, participants can submit the complete teaching module within one week after the event concludes. The organizers will then issue a certificate of completion and refund the deposit. However, failure to submit the teaching module by the deadline will result in forfeiture of the deposit, and no certificate of completion or transportation subsidy will be provided.
(VI) Before attending the workshop, participants must conceive the theme of their teaching module to ensure its smooth completion during the event. Full participation on the second day is mandatory.
V. Please encourage your teachers to actively participate in this workshop and grant them official leave with substitute arrangements.
