I. Jointly guided by the Ministry of Education, the Environmental Protection Administration, and the Ocean Conservation Administration, and hosted by our association, the "2020 10th Climate Change National Primary and Secondary School Painting Competition" with the theme "Our Ocean, Our Future" is now open for registration and submission until April 20 (Monday).
II. The competition is open to all junior high school students and fourth to sixth-grade primary school students nationwide. Winners of the national competition will receive certificates, art books, and prize money. Their works will be exhibited at Taoyuan International Airport, and their supervising teachers will also be presented with certificates of appreciation and art books.
III. This event aims to emphasize the importance of the issues of "climate change" and "protecting the ocean," echoing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 13 "Climate Action" and 14 "Life Below Water," and integrating with Taiwan's "National Ocean Day" (June 8) to jointly promote sustainable education, environmental education, and ocean education.
IV. Practicing climate action is not solely the responsibility of national and relevant organizations; it should start with individuals. It aims to raise students' awareness of resource conservation, energy saving and carbon reduction, and reducing the use of plastic products, so they can contribute to the ocean and global environment in their daily lives. Teachers are encouraged to include this in their teaching and guide students in their creative work.
V. We kindly request your school to disseminate the event information, assist in promoting the activity (posters and flyers will be mailed separately), and incorporate the painting theme into art (labor) teaching courses to guide students in their creative work and enhance their environmental literacy. For related information, please visit the official event website (painting.taise.org.tw).
VI. The event website (painting.taise.org.tw) provides a knowledge zone on climate change and sustainable development goals, and compiles news and current events related to climate change. Teachers are encouraged to make full use of these resources to contribute to the joint promotion of environmental education.
