Description:
1. In accordance with the National Academy for Educational Research's letter No. 1091100679C dated April 30, 2020.
2. The National Languages Development Act stipulates that national languages are to be included in the curriculum. Therefore, the Ministry of Education has subsidized the "Project for the Implementation of the National Languages Development Act - Revision of the General Guidelines, Subject Area Curricula, and Other Types of Curricula and Implementation Regulations." The National Academy for Educational Research has formed a revision team to carry out the revision of the curriculum guidelines for the twelve-year basic education general guidelines.
3. The revision process for the Academy's curriculum guidelines, after being confirmed by the Twelve-Year Basic Education Curriculum Research and Development Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Curriculum Development Committee), will proceed with review, public hearings, and online forums to further collect relevant revision opinions.
4. Due to the severe COVID-19 pandemic, the public hearings for the general guidelines revision draft, which were planned by the National Academy for Educational Research, were intended for an unspecified audience with an estimated attendance of over 100 people. To avoid concerns about cluster infections during the public hearings for the general guidelines revision draft, and in accordance with the "Guidelines for Public Gatherings" announced by the Centers for Disease Control, the physical public hearings have been canceled and replaced with an online forum.
5. The online forum for the aforementioned matter will be conducted as follows:
(1) Schedule: From 9:00 AM on May 4, 2020 (Monday) to 5:00 PM on June 4, 2020 (Thursday), for a total of 32 days. The revised draft of the general guidelines (marked version), the comparison table of amendments, a presentation video of the revised draft of the general guidelines, and Q&A will be published online to collect opinions through an online forum.
(2) The aforementioned materials will be posted on the Academy's webpage titled "Online Forum for the Revision Draft of Curricula in Response to the National Languages Development Act - First Wave: Revision Draft of the General Guidelines for Twelve-Year Basic Education" (http://12basic-forum.naer.edu.tw). All are welcome to review and provide revision opinions.
