Description:
I. In accordance with the letter No. 1090052672 dated May 14, 2020, from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Ministry of Education.
II. Matters related to the selection of new team members are detailed in the brochure (attached), with the following highlights:
(1) Selection qualifications: In-service qualified teachers in elementary and junior high schools with more than five years of teaching experience as qualified teachers and more than three years of experience as part-time counselors in city/county counseling groups or more than two years of experience as full-time counselors in city/county counseling groups. For those with special qualifications (e.g., Power Teacher) or conditions, the years of service in city/county counseling groups may be shortened appropriately.
(2) Units eligible to recommend central team teachers:
1. Education Bureaus (Departments) of Municipalities and County Governments.
2. Counseling groups for various fields/curricula/issues.
3. Current central team teachers.
(3) Selection criteria:
1. Professional competence to serve as a central team teacher (understanding and interpreting educational policies, problem awareness and diagnosis, instructional supervision and evaluation, teaching innovation and research, organizational management and leadership, etc.).
2. Specialized subject area competence (subject knowledge, familiarity with curriculum design and materials, teaching methods, etc.).
3. Personality traits (enthusiasm for service, willingness to engage with people, good communication skills, reflective, rational thinking, and teamwork, etc.).
(4) Recommendation method:
1. Recommendation period: From now until May 21, 2020 (Thursday), all recommendations will be made by mail.
2. The Department will conduct a preliminary review to determine if the recommended personnel meet the basic qualifications. The results and subsequent selection matters will be announced on the "Resource Integration Platform for Curriculum and Instruction of National Elementary and Junior High Schools" (CIRN) before May 25, 2020 (Monday).
(5) Important timeline for selection process:
1. Selection date: May 29, 2020 (Friday) at Conference Room 18, 18th Floor, South Tower, Central Joint Office Building (No. 5, Xuzhou Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City).
2. Announcement of results: The list of selected and reserve candidates will be announced on CIRN before June 12, 2020 (Friday), and the official list of selected candidates will be notified after the announcement.
(6) To prevent teachers' participation in central team affairs from affecting school matters, please communicate with your service school before applying. Apply only after obtaining the principal's consent and being exempted from homeroom teacher duties for the service academic year.
(7) The Department will appoint central team teachers based on the selection results and issue appointment letters. The appointment period is generally one academic year. The Department may extend the appointment based on the performance of the central team teachers, with each extension being for one academic year. Furthermore, for outstanding performance by central team teachers during their service, their respective school principals will also receive commendations.
(8) The initial team meeting for the 2020 academic year will be held from August 10, 2020 (Monday) to August 14, 2020 (Friday) at the Sanxia Campus of the National Academy for Educational Research. New central team members must attend the entire session; failure to do so will result in non-appointment.
III. The operation of the Central Curriculum and Instruction Consulting Teacher Team, as well as the rights, obligations, and evaluations of central team teachers, shall be handled in accordance with the "Key Points for the Establishment and Operation of the Central Curriculum and Instruction Consulting Teacher Team of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Ministry of Education."
