Description:
I. In accordance with the letter from the Secretary-General of the Judicial Yuan, No. 1090018166, dated June 20, 2020.
II. To deeply cultivate legal education in schools and promote the lay judge system within campuses, the Judicial Yuan held its first seed teacher training camp in February 2020, which received enthusiastic responses from teachers. To cultivate more seed teachers to conduct lay judge mock trial activities on campus, the Judicial Yuan plans to hold two more training camps in July and August 2020, inviting teachers from junior high school and above to register and participate (course schedules are attached as Annex 1 and Annex 2).
III. The training camp details are as follows:
(I) Training Time (Second and third sessions have the same curriculum, please choose one to attend):
1. Second Session: 1:30 PM on July 23, 2020 (Thursday) to 5:00 PM on July 24, 2020 (Friday).
2. Third Session: 1:30 PM on August 24, 2020 (Monday) to 5:00 PM on August 25, 2020 (Tuesday).
(II) Training Location: Judicial Academy (No. 103, Fúguó Road, Shìlín District, Taipei City).
(III) Eligibility and Quota: Teachers employed in junior high schools, senior high schools, vocational high schools, and universities. Each session has a quota of 70 participants, on a first-come, first-served basis. The Judicial Academy reserves the final decision on the admission list.
(IV) Registration Method: Online registration is available. Please go directly to the homepage of the Judicial Academy website and click on "Judicial Academy Training Course Registration" (or enter http://tpireg.judicial.gov.tw/jasignup/signupsite/) to register.
(V) Registration Period (The registration system will close early if the quota is reached):
1. Second Session: From 9:00 AM on June 30, 2020 (Tuesday) to 5:00 PM on July 6, 2020 (Monday).
2. Third Session: From 9:00 AM on July 24, 2020 (Friday) to 5:00 PM on July 30, 2020 (Thursday).
(VI) Meals will be provided during the training, and accommodation will be provided for participants from outside Taipei and New Taipei City.
IV. The list of admitted participants is scheduled to be announced on the Judicial Yuan website on July 10, 2020 (Second Session) and August 7, 2020 (Third Session), and will be individually notified by email from the Judicial Academy. No official dispatch will be sent. For course communication, please ensure you provide the correct email address and contact number during registration.
V. Upon completion of the training, teachers who attend the training camp will be awarded learning hours certification by the Judicial Academy based on their attendance, and this will be uploaded to the National Teacher In-service Professional Development Information Network.
VI. To facilitate participation for teachers in central and southern Taiwan, the Judicial Academy is collaborating with the Civic and Social Studies Center of the Ministry of Education's National and Preschool Education Administration to hold one-day training camps at the Tainan District Court on August 6, 2020 (Thursday) and the Changhua District Court on August 14, 2020 (Friday). Related training information and registration details will be announced separately by the center.
