2020 Ministry of Education Bilingual Education Seminar

I.	In accordance with the Ministry of Education's letter No. Tai Shi (II) Zi No. 1090155670 dated October 29, 2020.

II.

To implement the bilingual education policy promoted by the Executive Yuan since 2018, the Ministry of Education issued the "Implementation Plan for Teacher Training for English-Medium Instruction" by letter Tai Shi (II) Zi No. 1070199256 in November 2018, to cultivate professional teachers for teaching various subjects in English in elementary and secondary schools. Starting in 2019, subsidies were provided to National Taiwan Normal University and 7 other universities to establish research centers for English-Medium Instruction, conducting research on pre-service teacher training, curriculum, teaching materials, and methods for elementary and secondary schools, serving as important support for pre-service teacher training.

III.	The aforementioned event is jointly organized by the Research Center for English-Medium Instruction of National Taichung University of Education and National Changhua University of Education. The event details are as follows:

(I)	Time: Sunday, November 15, 2020, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

(II)	Location: Qiuzhen Building, National Taichung University of Education.

(III)

Event Content: Special lectures on bilingual teaching, a forum on bilingual education, static exhibitions of achievements from national research centers for English-medium instruction, and thematic presentations of achievements.

(IV)	Participants: Elementary and secondary school teachers, pre-service teachers, teacher education professors, and representatives from local government education bureaus promoting bilingual teaching.

V.	Participants who attend the entire event and complete the check-in and check-out process will receive a certificate of attendance. Teachers can also register for professional development hours on the National Teacher In-service Education Information Network.
