(1) Timeline:
1. Pilot (Awareness Period): From January 1, 2022, to March 31, 2022.
2. Official Implementation: Starting April 1, 2022.
(2) Implementation Method: Kitchen waste will be divided into recyclable and non-recyclable categories for separate collection. There will no longer be a distinction between kitchen waste for pig feed (cooked waste) and kitchen waste for composting (raw waste). As long as it is recyclable kitchen waste, whether raw or cooked, it should be mixed and recycled.
(3) Classification Method and Cooperation Matters:
1. Recyclable Kitchen Waste: Discarded raw and cooked food and their residues, including leafy vegetables, fruits, and leftover food. When discarding, please hand it over to the garbage trucks that collect along the streets (at designated points) or the kitchen waste recycling bins set up by the Taoyuan City Government Environmental Cleaning and Inspection Brigade for recycling. Do not mix it with general garbage.
2. Non-recyclable Kitchen Waste: Hard items, tough items, and other difficult-to-decompose items such as shells, oyster shells, large bones from cattle, sheep, and pigs, pineapple crowns, corn cobs, sugarcane peels, water bamboo husks, and bamboo shoot husks. Please dispose of these with general garbage and do not put them into kitchen waste recycling bins.
(4) Relevant Penalties: After the aforementioned policy is officially implemented starting April 1, 2022, if it is found that the waste is not classified and recycled according to regulations, a fine of NT$1,200 to NT$6,000 will be imposed in accordance with Article 50 of the Waste Disposal Act.
