| Subject: | To prevent the outbreak of dengue fever, please continue to implement dengue fever and other mosquito-borne infectious disease prevention and control measures in your school (kindergarten). |
| Description: |
| 1. | The CDC urges that imported dengue fever cases continue to increase in Taiwan, mainly from Southeast and South Asian countries such as Indonesia and Vietnam, and there have been imported cluster events from Cambodia exchanges. With the strengthening of the El Niño phenomenon and the peak summer travel season, the risk of imported infections is increasing. The CDC reminds the public to wear long-sleeved clothing and use qualified mosquito repellents when engaging in outdoor activities abroad; upon arrival, if symptoms such as fever, headache, retro-orbital pain, or muscle and joint pain occur, they should actively inform quarantine personnel; medical treatment within 14 days of returning to Taiwan requires disclosure of travel history. In response to the hot and rainy weather in Taiwan, the public and schools should implement "inspect, dump, clean, and brush" to thoroughly eliminate standing water in containers and prevent the breeding of mosquito vectors. |
| 2. | Please implement "inspect, dump, clean, and brush" in your school (kindergarten), actively eliminate breeding grounds indoors and outdoors to reduce the density of mosquito vectors; when engaging in outdoor activities, please wear light-colored long-sleeved clothing and use mosquito repellents with effective ingredients such as DEET, Picaridin, or IR-3535 approved by government agencies. |
| 3. | Furthermore, this government announced the dengue fever prevention and control measures for Taoyuan City on June 1, 115. If standing water containers and areas are not actively cleared, leading to the breeding of mosquito larvae (wrigglers), a fine of NT$3,000 to NT$15,000 will be imposed in accordance with the Communicable Disease Control Act upon discovery. |
