1. According to the international epidemic monitoring data from the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (CDC), areas in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central and South America, and the Caribbean are experiencing ongoing outbreaks of mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue fever, chikungunya, and Zika virus infection. The risk of domestic outbreaks remains high. Therefore, we request that your school implement the following epidemic prevention measures during the winter break:

(1) Please supervise the school in continuously implementing environmental management for the buildings, open spaces, vacant rooms, and facilities under its jurisdiction. Conduct regular weekly inspections. After rain, at hotspots where positive breeding sites have been found, and at construction sites on campus, please increase personnel patrols and eliminate mosquito breeding grounds to prevent outbreaks.

(2) Strengthen health management and health education for faculty, staff, and students who come to (return to) Taiwan:

1. Please keep track of the number of faculty, staff, and students coming to (returning to) Taiwan from endemic areas, their names, and their health status. Pay special attention to foreign teachers and students, and remind them to self-monitor their health for 14 days after entry. If they develop symptoms such as fever, headache, retro-orbital pain, muscle and joint pain, or rash, they should seek medical attention promptly and inform the doctor of their travel history. If a confirmed case occurs, the school safety reporting procedures should be followed to keep abreast of the latest epidemic developments on campus.

2. If faculty, staff, or students are infected with mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue fever, chikungunya, or Zika, they should be advised to minimize going out, wear light-colored long-sleeved clothing, use mosquito repellent, and hang mosquito nets when sleeping at night to prevent mosquito bites. They should practice self-health management to avoid being bitten by mosquitoes again and cooperate with local health and environmental units in implementing various epidemic prevention measures to prevent the spread of the epidemic on campus.

II. Campuses are places where community residents engage in daily activities and are high-risk areas for mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue fever due to crowds. Please continue to cooperate with health authorities in various prevention and control efforts to ensure the health and safety of faculty, staff, and students.
