1. According to the press release issued by the Central Epidemic Command Center for African Swine Fever on December 13, 108 (2019), the FAO weekly report indicated that the Indonesian Ministry of Agriculture announced on December 12 of this year that the country had an outbreak of African Swine Fever. Indonesia is the 11th country in the Asian region to experience an outbreak of African Swine Fever, following China (including Hong Kong and Macau), Mongolia, Vietnam, Cambodia, North Korea, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, South Korea, and East Timor. In view of the ongoing spread of African Swine Fever in neighboring Asian countries, public awareness of epidemic prevention must be raised to jointly prevent the spread of African Swine Fever outside the country.

2. In accordance with Article 45-1 of the Statute for Control of Animal Infectious Diseases and the penalty standards announced by the Bureau of Animal and Plant Health Inspection and Quarantine of the Council of Agriculture on December 18, 107 (2018) (as attached), travelers who illegally carry pork products from countries with African Swine Fever outbreaks in the past three years and fail to declare them for quarantine will be fined NT$200,000 for the first offense and up to NT$1,000,000 for the second offense. Foreign nationals without a residence permit who are fined NT$200,000 for the first offense and are unable to pay immediately will be refused entry.

3. We request that your school refer to the "Self-Assessment Checklist for Responding to African Swine Fever Outbreaks in Schools at All Levels" to establish a working group, implement publicity measures, ensure proper management and correct recycling of ingredients and kitchen waste in the teaching environment, and prepare contingency plans in advance in case of an outbreak.

4. We request that your school continue to actively utilize relevant information through the following channels to implement epidemic prevention publicity:

(1) The Ministry of Education's School Health Information Network "African Swine Fever Education Zone" (URL: https://cpd.moe.gov.tw/index.php), where the "Downloadable Promotional Materials" and "Video Zone" sections provide various epidemic prevention videos and electronic promotional materials, including multilingual (including Vietnamese, English, Hakka, Taiwanese, etc.) interstitial cards and videos. The aforementioned "Self-Assessment Checklist for Responding to African Swine Fever Outbreaks in Schools at All Levels" can also be downloaded directly from this website.

(2) The Central Epidemic Command Center's "African Swine Fever Information Zone" (URL: https://asf.baphiq.gov.tw/index.php), where the "Promotional Materials" section provides various flat promotional materials, video zone data, and related penalty regulations and precautions.
