Explanation:  
1. This is handled in accordance with the "Regulations for Adjusting the Admission Age and Study Period for Special Education Students," and the "Key Points and Implementation Methods for Shortening the Study Period for Gifted Students in Senior Secondary and Below in Taoyuan City" (as attached, this bureau's official letter No. 1100049715 dated June 11, 110).
2. According to the aforementioned key points, the methods for schools to shorten the study period for gifted students include: exemption from courses (learning areas) after passing subject achievement tests, acceleration in some subjects (learning areas), simultaneous acceleration in all subjects (learning areas), grade skipping in some subjects (learning areas), and grade skipping in all subjects (learning areas), totaling 5 categories.
3. The work excerpt for schools to shorten the study period for gifted students is as follows:
(1) The school's implementation plan for shortening the study period for gifted students should be announced online and widely publicized within 3 weeks after the start of each semester.
(2) For students applying for course exemption, acceleration in some subjects, or acceleration in all subjects, after being reviewed and approved by the Special Education Committee, the relevant materials including the learning support plan, the minutes of the Special Education Committee meeting, and the identification data should be submitted to this bureau for record by December 15th for the first semester and by May 15th for the second semester, before proceeding.
(3) For applications for grade skipping in some subjects or grade skipping in all subjects, after being reviewed and approved by the school's Special Education Committee, the relevant materials including the learning support plan, the minutes of the Special Education Committee meeting, and the identification data should be submitted to this bureau by December 15th for the first semester and by May 15th for the second semester. These will be implemented after review and approval by the city's Special Education Student Identification and Support Committee and approval by this bureau.
4. Each school is requested to handle the application matters for students who meet the eligibility criteria in accordance with the aforementioned regulations.
